Description
Buenaventura is a district in Colombia, located in the department of Valle del Cauca. Colombia’s main seaport is one of the ten most important ports in Latin America; it is estimated that Buenaventura handles more than 53% of the country’s international trade. It is the third most populous city in the department after Cali and Palmira. It is located on the shores of Buenaventura Bay on the Pacific Ocean. It is 70 miles by road to Cali, which is separated from it by the Western Cordillera of the Andes. Apart from this, it is the only municipality in Valle del Cauca that has a coastline on the Pacific Ocean.
