Description
The José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden was created in 1955. Mutis was one of the first people to study and classify the flora of the Viceroyalty of New Granada. Its 20 hectares are home to more than 18,206 living plant accessions, specializing in those from the Andean region. It is a multicultural setting where you can enjoy a lake and rich wilderness, one of the largest wax palm forests in the country, and adaptations and living natural representations of moorland, Amazon rainforest, Andean landscape, Orinoquía plains, swamps, etc.
